A double post, but oh well.
For the past two semesters, the honor's society has emailed and mailed me information on how to join. I have gone back and forth on whether or not to join. I do believe joining the honor's society will be beneficial in my college life, but I am worried that if I join now, what if I mess up this semester and bring my GPA down? I guess I would have to really mess up as my GPA is fairly high, but I keep thinking that joining is setting myself up for disaster. My boyfriend and mother both urge me to join, but I am scared. I guess I keep thinking of highschool and how my freshman and sophomore year I did really well but then let it all fall away with junior and senior year. I believe that I am more mature than I was then, but I still am afraid something will happen.
:(
Go for it, it will be a great advantage when applying to 4-year colleges to have that seal on your transcript. Although you are worried that your grades might slip, it is not an automatic kick out of the program, but you will be put on a probation period to bring your grades back up. And you said yourself that you are more mature than you were in High School, so maybe you will have more drive and ambition to keep your grades. Do sell yourself short.
