Saturday Goodness

Well, I am not motivated towards school at all today. My paper is due tomorrow and I just don't want to do it!
My boyfriend's mother, Kathy, came over today with cookie cutters and sprinkles and we both made dozens of sugar cookies with lots of different color sprinkles; dinosaurs sprinkles too! Now we are cooking spaghetti with marinara and garlic bread with bruschetta for dinner. I usually don't cook, but the past month I have been cooking nonstop.
I imagine later tonight I will build up enough motivation to complete the paper. After this upcoming week, school is done for this semester! I am so happy! My birthday is Tuesday also, I love December.

Thanksgiving Morning
Well, I guess it is no longer morning but I stayed up until 3am so it is my morning! I am listening to great music (Vivaldi) and relaxing because I did my cooking for today the last two days. It is the first time I have actually cooked for Thanksgiving and I made everything from scratch (well, except the pumpkin puree). It makes me mighty happy that I actually cooked rolls, cake, cranberry sauce, and potatoes without burning anything and it is all edible!
I hope everyone else has a great day and enjoys their 3,000 calorie Thanksgiving dinner!

Overtime
I honestly don't know how I manage school and work together. I am working eight hours of overtime tomorrow for some extra holiday money and also doing a lot of projects for my five classes that are due on December 5th. Oh well, I will manage it.
On a happier note, I am in a better mood this week. We are almost done with school for this semester and I am only taking three classes next semester. I have Thanksgiving off and plan on cooking a lot of stuff home made for the first time, hopefully I don't burn it!

Spring Semester
I registered for classes today. After this semester of five courses, I decided I was only going to take three. Even with only three classes, I am still managing to take 11 credits. I really hope I don't get burned out easy like I did this semester. I usually take mostly online classes but for the Spring, I am taking two physical classes; hope I can do it!
My courses for Spring are Interpersonal Communication, College Biology/Lab, and Forensic Anthropology. If I stay on course, I can be done with CCA by next Fall. Wish me luck!

Is it December yet?
I am starting to feel bummed with school this semester. I don't know if it is the amount of classes I have taken or if it is the actual classes I have taken. I am not a fan of English and I always stress when I take an English class. Also, the computer class I am taking was great up until this last week where it got extremely confusing and I can't seem to get any answers from the teacher or the book (honestly thinking of dropping it before the 9th). I guess I just can't wait until this semester is finished and I can have these classes behind me.
Sorry for the 'woe is me' post.

Fall
Don't you just love the changing seasons? I absolutely love that in Colorado it can be 20 degrees and snowing and the next day it can be sunny and 65. Absolutely love Fall!
Along with the weather, I love the holidays and the extra time I have off work. Now, if the semester could only be over, it would be a true blessing!

Holidays
I know we have some time still to the holidays, but this year I am thinking about them early. I normally don't think much of the holidays as my family lives elsewhere and I haven't spent the holidays with them since I was 19, but this year is different. I have an almost one year old niece to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas with. I am looking forward to the holidays this year, even if I cannot be in attendance on the days, I am looking forward to sending better gifts than my normal cards.
Days like today make me wish I lived back home. :(

Like finding $20 in my pocket...
Last week I was given a take-home midterm for one of my anthropology courses that is due tomorrow. The test wasn't hard, but took a very long time to complete (over a full eight hours of research and answering essay questions) so when I completed the test yesterday, I was not looking forward to completing the weekly anthropology reading and questions due tomorrow. Well, I just looked at my assignment schedule and realized that the next anthropology assignment due is next Thursday!! Not tomorrow!! Now, that is better than finding $20 in my pocket.

I am also surprised that we are halfway done with the semester. It has flown by!

Honor's Society
For the past two semesters, the honor's society has emailed and mailed me information on how to join. I have gone back and forth on whether or not to join. I do believe joining the honor's society will be beneficial in my college life, but I am worried that if I join now, what if I mess up this semester and bring my GPA down? I guess I would have to really mess up as my GPA is fairly high, but I keep thinking that joining is setting myself up for disaster. My boyfriend and mother both urge me to join, but I am scared. I guess I keep thinking of highschool and how my freshman and sophomore year I did really well but then let it all fall away with junior and senior year. I believe that I am more mature than I was then, but I still am afraid something will happen.
:(
Procrastination
With that said, I am now going to start doing my Office homework and then get started on my English homework. I know I can get it done, it is just stressful. Maybe 13 credits wasn't the smartest idea? We will see.

Another day....
In other school news, I have an appoitment at 1pm with the assistant dean to add the additional anthropology course to my schedule this semester. I really hope she allows it because if not, I will be taking 13 credits my final semester before I graduate. I really don't want to be overly stressed that semester. Speaking of graduation, if everything goes as planned, I should have my associates degree Fall 2010 after taking 13 credits this semester and 10 credits both Spring and Fall 2010. I may also take a summer course if the one I want is offered. I am also seeing if my work will pay for the English and Math courses I still need to take, it would sure be a blessing if they did.
Well, I guess I will update my blog again later.

Classes
As for the paper, I honestly have no update as of right now. I am going to compose my paper on the different arguments of global warming. I am planning on spending the majority of Saturday at the main Denver library, hopefully there will not be another even downtown!
Wish me luck on my full schedule!! At this rate, I should have my associate degree by next summer.

First week of school...
I am also stressed due to the fact that I am heading to Utah from Friday-Monday of this week. I will be out of contact for most of the time and will be camping with my archeology class (I will post pictures when I get back). This cuts back on the time I have to complete coursework required for this week... which means that I essentially have tonight and a little bit of tomorrow night to complete my work for this week.
On top of all these stresses, I am sad that I am leaving my team at work. It may be only temporary for right now (due to an assignment from October-December), but I may also change schedules so I can have my nights free for school. We will see. Either way, it is making my co-workers and I very sad.
With all of that 'woe is me' stuff, I am off.
